Judith has an accident on her Bike Test
Judith had an accident whilst on her Bike Test on Saturday 7th August. She has broken her shoulder and had an operation on Monday 16th Aug to repair it using a metal plate. According to Martin, who posted an update on Yahoo, she is comfortable. She will need a further operation in 6 months to remove the plate. I spoke to her the day after the meeting on the 9th and apart from being very fed up and not looking forward to the op, she is ok.
The accident happened whilst carrying out the emergency stop test. I'm sure that you would have heard of it before as a number of people have fallen fowl to this manoeuvre and it has been covered in the press and MCN calling for it to be changed. On the day that Judith took her test it was also raining which obviously didnt help. Apparently you have to reach a certain measured speed just prior to the manoeuvre and it is quite difficult.
As I know some of you do not use Yahoo, I thought I'd let you know here. I will periodically update you with her progress.
If you would like to send her your best wishes, you should have her address on the members list. I won't post it on here for obvious reasons, but if you need it just give me a call at any time.
Gary.
